The year 1971 is known as the year of India-Pakistan war. Vedwanati Mandavagale, was then studying, she was a college student. But she loved Indira Gandhi, she wished that Indira Gandhi should become the Prime Minister of this country. so she wrote a letter to Indira Gandhi and wished her success in the elections. Subsequently, Indira Gandhi was also elected. But she hadn’t forgotten the letter written by vedwanti. After her victory Indira Gandhi sent a letter to her in her own handwriting. For the last 50+ years, Vedwanti has kept the letter with her. Now that Rahul Gandhi is coming to shegao as part of Bharat Jodo Yatra, vedwanti wishes to meet him and hand him over the letter, which is the memory of his grandmother.
