New Delhi: Recently an American Newspaper The Wall Street Journal, advertisement slamming Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Justice V. Ramasubramian, and ED Chief R. Rajesh. This has led to many controversies. This ad was published on 13 October. In the ad, the three are addressed as ‘Meet the officials who made India an unsafe place for investment’.

The advertisement published in the Wall Street Journal has sought a ban on Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Supreme Court judges, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and other officials involved in the Devas-Antrix case as wanted.

In this advertisement, 11 people have been demanded to be banned and the title of the advertisement has been given ‘Modi’s Magnitsky 11’. Under the 2016 Global Magnitsky Law of the US government, foreign government officials who have committed human rights violations are banned.

This advertisement has been issued at a time when the country’s Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has gone to America to attend the annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. Where she reached Washington on October and will remain in America till October 16.

In this advertisement, the names of 11 people were given and it was written that, “These officials of Modi government have ended the rule of law by using state institutions as weapons to settle political and business rivals It has made India unsafe for investors.”

“We demand the US government to impose economic and visa sanctions against them under the Global Magnitsky Human Rights Accountability Act. The rule of law has declined under Modi and India has become a dangerous place for investment. According to this website, it is an educational institution that promotes the principles of ‘individual liberty, peace through power, limited government, free enterprise, free markets and traditional American values”, was stated in the advertisement.

Many people have also shared the picture of this advertisement on Twitter. George Landrith, founder of Frontiers of Freedom and Senator of the Republican Party, tweeted this ad, writing that, ‘The new advertisement of Frontiers of Freedom exposes the actions of India’s Magnitsky XI and the Finance Minister, who have ruled the rule of law and investment in India. The atmosphere has been destroyed.’
