Washington: Greta Thunberg the Swedish environment activist known for her challenging approach towards world leaders, pushing them to take immediate action for climate change mitigation was in a Twitter row with Andrew Tate.

Andrew Tate is an American-British social media personality, businessman, and former professional kickboxer. The debate began when Tate took to Twitter and wrote, “Hello @GretaThunberg, I have 33 cars. My Bugatti has a w16 8.0L quad-turbo. My TWO Ferrari 812 competizione have 6.5L v12s. This is just the start. Please provide your email address so I can send a complete list of my car collection and their respective enormous emissions.” Greta responded,  “Yes, please do enlighten me. email me at [email protected].” He wrote back “Thank you for confirming via your email address that you have a small penis @GretaThunberg. The world was curious.
And I do agree you should get a life ❤️”

The tweet has some 424K retweets and 92K quote tweets. Tate is well-known for dismissing women and making misogynistic remarks. While some accuse Greta of using incorrect slang in response to Tate’s tweet, many see this as Tate’s way of gaining more followers by attacking someone ideologically opposed to his in order to amplify his account. Not only did Tate benefit from it, but Greta’s followers increased by 130K as well.

The repercussion of this war of words on Twitter pounced back on Tate. Mr Tate was arrested alongside his brother Tristan and two Romanian suspects after his Bucharest home was raided. Andrew Tate was arrested in Romania on suspicion of human trafficking, rape, and forming a criminal organization reported Reuters.

“The four suspects… appear to have created an organized crime group with the purpose of recruiting, housing and exploiting women by forcing them to create pornographic content meant to be seen on specialized websites for a cost,” prosecutors told Reuters.

The two brothers, as well as the other two suspects, will be held for 24 hours. Prosecutors discovered six women who were sexually abused by the suspects. Mr Tate, on the other hand, allegedly stated that the women are partially to blame for being raped and that they belong to men.

Mr Tate rose to prominence in 2016 as a guest on the British reality show ‘Big Brother,’ according to the BBC. He was quickly removed, however, after a video surfaced that appeared to show him hitting a woman with a belt. Mr Tate claimed that the video had been edited and called it a “total lie” at the time.

The British national went on to become well-known on the internet. He was barred from Twitter and other social media platforms, including YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram, for his misogynistic posts. Mr Tate’s Twitter ban was lifted only a month ago by Elon Musk.
