A 41-year-old Indian-origin man, identified as Vivek Chander Taneja, died in the US. He was allegedly struck on the head during a late-night altercation outside a Washington restaurant on February 2. The incident marked the fifth case of an Indian American killed in the US this year. Taneja, an executive in Virginia, succumbed to his critical injuries on February 7. The police are treating his death as a homicide. No arrests have been made, and a reward of up to $25,000 is offered for information leading to the suspect’s arrest and conviction.
