India And Russia Enhance Nuclear Cooperation Pact

India and Russia have ratified a protocol amending the 2008 intergovernmental agreement regarding nuclear cooperation. The amendment focuses on constructing additional nuclear reactors at the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project site and building Russia-designed nuclear power plants in new India locations. The agreement was signed by Alexey Likhachev, Director General of Rosatom State Corporation, and Ajit Kumar Mohanty, Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission of India and Secretary of the Department for Atomic Energy.
