Taliban Attributes Women’s Education Ban To Public Disconnect

Taliban’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai, acknowledged the public’s estrangement, attributing it to the persistent ban on women’s education. Speaking at a graduation ceremony in Kabul, he emphasized the importance of reopening schools for girls beyond grade 6, stating that a society without knowledge is “dark.” Stanikzai urged the restoration of educational institutions for all, citing the contentious issue as the root cause of strained relations with neighbours and the international community.
