Thai Court Clears Ex-PM Yingluck Shinawatra Of Fund Misuse

On Monday, a Thai court acquitted former Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, currently in exile, of charges related to mismanaging funds for a government project in 2013. This marks another legal triumph for the influential family of former premier Thaksin Shinawatra. Thaksin, Yingluck’s brother, recently obtained parole for corruption offences. Last year, he returned home after over ten years in self-imposed exile, spending six months detained in a hospital before receiving clemency due to his age and poor health.
