Thailand Legalizes Same-Sex Marriage, A First In Southeast Asia

On Wednesday, Thai LGBTQ rights activists celebrated a significant milestone as the parliament overwhelmingly approved a same-sex marriage bill, positioning Thailand to become the inaugural Southeast Asian country to acknowledge marriage equality. The bill passed with 399 to 10 votes in the lower house, awaiting Senate approval and royal endorsement to become law.
