WHO Issues Warning As Hepatitis Deaths Reach 3,500 Daily

The World Health Organization raised concerns over the rising fatalities attributed to viral hepatitis, now the second leading infectious cause of death globally, claiming 1.3 million lives annually. Hepatitis B accounted for 83%, and hepatitis C for 17% of these deaths, averaging 3,500 daily casualties, as per the WHO’s 2024 Global Hepatitis Report released during the World Hepatitis Summit.
