Srinagar| A team of 20 diplomats from Europe and Africa arrived in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday morning. In this 2-day tour, officials will tell the team about the development going on in Jammu and Kashmir and the recent District Development Council (DDC) elections.
The delegation is being led by Ugo Estuto, the Ambassador of the European Union (EU) to India. French Ambassador Emmanuelle Linen and members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation are also part of the team. The tour is being conducted on the call of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Activists, media, will meet officers
This time, foreign diplomats will meet newly elected members of the DDC, social and political activists, media and civil administration officials and army personnel. Civil Administration officials will explain the work done after the removal of article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. Officials of the army and security agencies will give them information about the security situation.
Members of the delegation will visit Shikara in Dal Lake in Srinagar and will also visit Gulmarg. After this, on February 18, they will reach Jammu and meet LG Manoj Sinha.
Fourth delegation since Article 370 removal
This is the fourth visit of foreign delegation to Jammu and Kashmir since Article-370 was abolished on 5 August 2019. Earlier, in October 2019, January and February 2020, delegation visited Jammu and Kashmir.
