The meeting was conducted so as to hold a discussion for the proposals that are to be sent to the Union government so as to get a compensation for the losses that have been suffered so far. The highways that have been become completely off-limits for traffic because of landslips are the NH 275 stretch between Madikeri-Sullia, the NH 75 stretch between Sakleshpur and Gundiya and the NH 234 stretch between Kottoghera and Charmadi.

More so, Kumaraswamy has asked the officials to chalk out an elaborated proposal delineating the damage and the estimated costs for repairing public property that includes buildings, bridges, and roads; estimated losses to plantation crops like paddy, coffee, arecanut and pepper.

Amidst this, a senior official involved in rehabilitation and relief operations stated that it would take a couple of more days to get a final evaluation of the damages in the flood-hit areas since the survey work was still being conducted.
