Unnao rape case accused BJP MLA Kuldeep Sengar removed from ‘Y’ grade security category.

11 security men including commandos and policemen were appointed in the ‘Y’ grade security for the legislator.

LUCKNOW: The Uttar Pradesh BJP leader Kuldeep Sengar who is under the CBI custody for raping a 15-year-old in Unnao is been removed from the ‘Y’ grade security category by the Yogi Adityanath government.

Kuldeep Sengar had 11 security personnel including commandos and policemen under the Y’ category security.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) earlier this week had arrested the Bjp legislator from Unnao in connection with the alleged rape.

This is considered as an image change over for the Yogi government as it was accused of going soft on the lawmaker. The police charged him with kidnapping and criminal intimidation and under the stringent Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act but didn’t arrest him until an Allahabad High Court order.

The CBI, which is now investigating the charge, has registered three cases against Sengar linked to the crime he allegedly committed last year.

The victim tried to kill herself in front of the Chief Minister’s house in Lucknow which later drew the attention of the media.
