30 dead as bus falls into a 500 ft deep valley

Thirty people are feared dead after a bus fell into a 500 feet deep valley near Ambenali Ghat in Mahabaleshwar, Maharashtra on Saturday.

As per NDRF reports, 8 people are reportedly dead but casualties are over 20. The bus was carrying 38 passengers along with 2 drivers.

One passenger, Prakash Sawant is said to have survived.

All passengers on-board were students and were going towards Mahabaleshwar on a weekend trip.

The students belonged to Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth and the accident spot is at the boundary of Raigad-Satara district.

A team of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has been called to the spot to take pull out the bodies from the ill-fated bus. A dozen ambulances and 15 doctors have also reached the spot
