Journalist Abhisar Sharma receives Ramnath Goenka Award for excellence in Hindi Journalism

Abhisar Sharma received the Ramnath Goenka Award for his report that emphasized how over 1,00,000 UP children lost their lives due to the disease.

 

 

New Delhi| Senior Journalist Abhisar Sharma who recently joined HW News for a show called “Suniye Sarkar” received 13th Ramnath Goenka Award for Excellence in Hindi Journalism (Broadcast). He received the award for his show based on the horror of Encephalitis in East UP. His report emphasized how over 1,00,000 children lost their lives due to the disease. Home Minister Rajnath Singh presented him with the award on Friday in New Delhi.

Abhisar Sharma in his journalistic career has won many awards. In 2008, he was awarded Ramnath Goenka Memorial Foundation award. He also received Red Ink award in 2017 for his special reportage “Operation Lal Jungle” which is based on Human Rights

The Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Awards is an initiative by the Express group that aim to celebrate excellence in journalism, recognize courage and commitment and showcase the outstanding contributions of journalists from across the country. Along with Abhisar Sharma 29 winners in 18 categories — across print, broadcast and purely-digital — received the award for outstanding work done in 2017.
