As account holders panic, RBI says Indian Banking system is completely safe

RBI tweeted that it would like to assure the general public that the Indian banking system is safe and stable and there is no need to panic.

 

New Delhi| Since RBI put restrictions on PMC bank, the mismanagement of the bank affairs have been exposed. However, this also gave birth to rumours about RBI putting restrictions on several other banks. Earlier, Reserve Bank of India had clarified that people should not believe such rumours. Today again the Reserve Bank of India has dismissed all these rumours and has asked people not to panic.

The Reserve Bank today said in its tweet that-

“Rumours are being circulated in sections of social media about operations of banks to create panic among the public. All are advised not to fall prey to such baseless and false rumours.”

“There are rumours in some locations about certain banks including cooperative banks, resulting in anxiety among the depositors. RBI would like to assure the general public that the Indian banking system is safe and stable and there is no need to panic on the basis of such rumours,” RBI tweeted.
