Arun Jaitley critical: PM Modi likely to visit AIIMS

PM Modi is expected to meet Arun Jaitley in AIIMS at around 8 PM. Jaitley, whose health deteriorated last week was admitted to AIIMS following complaints of chest congestion.

 

New Delhi| Former Finance Minister and senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley’s health is said to be critical. Since morning, many top leaders are lining up at the AIIMS hospital in New Delhi to visit him. According to reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi who was on his two-day visit to Bhutan may pay visit to Arun Jaitley in the evening. PM Modi returned to India in the evening where External Affairs minister S Jaishankar received him.

Reportedly, he will meet Arun Jaitley in AIIMS at around 8 PM. Jaitley, whose health deteriorated last week was admitted to the hospital following complaints of chest congestion. He was admitted to the Cardio-Nuero centre of the hospital. Now, he has been kept in Intensive Care unit where a team of doctors is monitoring his health.

AIIMS had issued a medical bulletin on August 9, stating that the leader is Haemodynamically stable. Since then, no medical bulletin has been issues by the hospital.

In the morning, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat paid visit to the ailing leader and inquired about his health. In the afternoon, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy CM Manish Sisodia paid visit to the leader.

So far, many BJP leaders including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Union Health minister Harsh Vardhan, Home Minister Amit Shah have paid visit to the leader. On Friday, President Ramnath Kovind too met him.
