Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said that Congress does not fear such notices and will continue to highlight the “wrong-doings of a failed Modi government”.
New Delhi| As she received the notice from the central government to vacate the bungalow at Lodhi Estate in Delhi, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi may have been planning a political move. Sources close to Priyanka have revealed that will now shift to Uttar Pradesh and will stay in a bungalow in Lucknow.
Keeping in mind the 2022 Assembly election in the state, Priyanka is now preparing to build her base in Lucknow. She is expected to shift to this ancestral bungalow named ‘Kaul House’ in Lucknow. The property belongs to Indira Gandhi’s aunt Sheela Kaul.
Priyanka’s decision to shift to Lucknow is considered very important for Congress’ preparation of the assembly election. Priyanka is intending to spend more and more time in different districts of Uttar Pradesh by staying in Lucknow before the election. Sources said this will provide her with more time to prepare better for the assembly polls.
Priyanka Gandhi also cleared her pending dues for the government accommodation at 35, Lodhi Estate in Delhi, after she was asked to vacate it as she is no more protected by the Special Protection Group (SPG). Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs confirmed the developments.
“Ms Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has made online payment of balance amount due on her. Hence, now dues as on 30.06.2020 is nil against her,” a spokesperson from the ministry informed.
Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said that Congress does not fear such notices and will continue to highlight the “wrong-doings of a failed Modi government”.
“PM Narendra Modi and his Government are blinded by rage, hatred and revenge against the Congress leadership. Unnerved by political activism of Priyanka ji in UP, Modi Government has stooped even further by issuing house vacation notice. Such frustrated attempts will not deter us,” the Congress spokesperson tweeted.
“Priyanka Gandhi is Indira Gandhi’s grand-daughter and neither she nor the Congress leadership will be cowed down by such notices,” he further added.
