At More Than 85 Lakh India Records Highest Vaccination On Monday

The record vaccination has heightened the hopes as India expects to vaccinate entire population by December.

 

New Delhi | On Day 1 of the free vaccination drive for all adults, more than 85 lakh people were vaccinated in India. This number is expected to increase further after the complete data comes from the states. According to the data given on cowin.gov.in, 85.15 lakh people have been vaccinated on Monday. This number has broken previous record high of more than 43 lakh people who were vaccinated on April 5. On June 7, PM Modi had announced free vaccination drive for all above 18 years of age from June 21.

The record vaccination has heightened the hopes as India expects to vaccinate entire population by December.

Reacting to the development Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed happiness on Twitter. He said that vaccine remains our strongest weapon to fight Coronavirus. He congratulated all the beneficiaries and frontline workers. “Well done India,” he wrote.

 

Highest Vaccination In Madhya Pradesh

According to cowin.gov.in, Madhya Pradesh recorded the highest number of vaccinations on Monday. Here 16.70 lakh people were vaccinated. This is the record for the highest number of vaccinations in a single day in any state. Apart from this, 11.11 lakh people got the vaccine in Karnataka and 7.16 lakh in UP. In Delhi, this number was just 76,282.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh alone has given more than 20% of the vaccinations done in the country today. “If complete vaccination is done then we can open colleges and coaching institutes. We will run a grand campaign again from 1st to 3rd July,” he said.

India Leaves The US Behind In Highest Single Day Vaccination

In this respect, India has outperformed America. So far in the US, 40 lakh people have been vaccinated in a day on April 4. A total of 6.87 lakh doses have been administered in Australia so far. About one and a half times of this were administered in India in a day.

The Health Ministry has said that so far 28.33 crore people in the country have been given the coronavirus vaccine. Of these, more than 23.27 crores have got the first dose and 5.05 crores have got the second dose.
