Bhupendra Patel’s Oath As Gujarat Chief Minister Today

Gandhinagar : Senior BJP leader Bhupendra Patel will be sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Gujarat today after the shock exit of Vijay Rupani and his entire cabinet in a reboot a year before polls in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state.

Home Minister Amit Shah along with Chief Ministers of BJP ruled states will also attend oath taking ceremony at Raj Bhawan. Goa CM Pramod Sawant, Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar, Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan will attend the oath-taking ceremony.

Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat announced in a tweet that “the newly appointed leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Legislature Party, Bhupendrabhai Patel, presented a proposal to form a new government under his leadership” on Sunday. “Accepting the proposal, he was invited to take oath as the Chief Minister on September 13, 2021 at 2:20 pm,” he said.

In his first media address after being nominated by the party as the new chief minister, Patel also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several other senior BJP leaders. “First of all, I want to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi, JP Nadda and Amit Shah from the bottom of my heart. I also want to thank all the leaders of Gujarat BJP, including CR Patil and the team of Vijay Rupani,” Patel in his first media address after being nominated by the party as the new chief minister.
