BJP’s Assam Manifesto Promises Implementation Of CAA, “Correct NRC”, Jobs For Youth

Days ahead of the first phase of the election in the north-eastern state, BJP president JP Nadda on Tuesday released the party manifesto for the upcoming assembly elections in Assam. The BJP, in its Assam manifesto, has promised a ‘correct NRC’ along with jobs for the youth and cycles for girl students.

JP Nadda, announcing the BJP Assam manifesto, said the party is making 10 commitments to help Assam take the next big leap in the coming five years.

“CAA has been passed by Parliament. It is to be implemented and it will be implemented in letter and spirit,” JP Nadda said.

“Congress supports infiltration in a way. BJP has made many efforts in the last five years to stop infiltration and strengthening of the borders. In the manifesto, we promise a ‘correct NRC’ to protect the genuine citizens of India,” the BJP chief said on Tuesday.

10 Key promises made by the BJP in the Assam manifesto:

  1. Mission Brahmaputra with an aim to save the people from the impact of floods.
  2. Extending Arunoday programme to give monthly support of Rs 3,000 to 30 lakh people.
  3. Rs 2.5 lakh financial support for all namgarhs.
  4. Commitment to give quality education to children. Free education to all children in government institutions. Girl students will get bicycles from Class 8.
  5. ‘Corrected NRC’. Promise to protect genuine Indian citizens and stop infiltrators, so that Assam stays with Assam.
  6. To speed up delimitation to protect the political rights of people.
  7. For self-sufficient Assam, BJP plans at the macro and micro levels.
  8. To ensure job opportunities for the youth of Assam with which the state will become the fastest job creator state in the country. 2 lakh people to get government jobs and 1 lakh will get jobs by March 31, 2022. BJP also promises 8 lakh jobs in the private sector.
  9. To promote entrepreneurship: Swami Vivekananda Youth Employment scheme. 2 lakh youths to be supported as entrepreneurs every year for the next 5 years.
  10. To support more landless people through ‘patta’ system.
