“BJP’s Cheap Attempts To Defame Maharashtra Have Been Exposed”: Sachin Sawant

After Sushant’s case, a conspiracy has been hatched to target and defame Bollywood, said Sachin Sawant, general secretary, and spokesperson of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee.

The BJP’s ploy to tarnish Maharashtra’s image and to reduce the state’s importance nationally by using actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s case has been exposed. Bihar Director General of Police Gupteswar Pandey, who played a key role in the conspiracy, has applied for VRS and it has also been approved immediately. There is no doubt that this Pandey will soon get a big reward from the BJP from playing his part in the conspiracy so well. After Sushant’s case, a conspiracy has been hatched to target and defame Bollywood, said Sachin Sawant, general secretary, and spokesperson of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee.

Casting doubt on the investigation done by the central agencies, Congress has started raising a series of questions. Today, Sawant has asked three questions to NCB headed by Rakesh Asthana, the director-general of the NCB, who is a blue-eyed boy of Modi.

“Firstly, The NCB has had an office in Mumbai for many years and Bollywood is also in Mumbai, so why was there no inquiry in the so-called Bollywood and drug connections so far? Secondly, the ED had called the NCB to investigate the drug angle in the Sushant case. The NCB has not made any arrests so far as per the first FIR registered on 15/2020. The arrests have been made under the second FIR which was registered on 16/2020 which has nothing to do with the Sushant Singh Rajput death case. So has the NCB dropped its probe into the Sushant Singh case? They should clarify this issue. And thirdly, what is the NCB’s view on the government’s statement in Parliament that the NCB has no strong actionable evidence to establish the Bollywood-drug connection?” Sawant asked.

“Bihar Director General of Police Gupteswar Pandey defamed the Mumbai police in the Sushant Singh case. He has now applied for voluntary retirement and it was approved immediately. In fact, an officer has to give a three-month notice before seeking VRS, but as soon as Pandey filed his application, the government approved immediately, and the BJP is likely to give Pandey an even bigger reward. The BJP has no sympathy for Sushant Singh, they have only used his death as an opportunity ahead of the Bihar elections and to discredit Maharashtra. The BJP used these issues to hide the failures of the Modi government at the national level and to divert people’s attention from the main issues. Now it has started targeting Bollywood. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s announcement two days ago to set up a grand film industry in Uttar Pradesh is not a mere coincidence,” Sawant said.
