BJP’s Minority Cell President Turns Out To Be Illegal Bangladeshi Immigrant, Mumbai Police Make Arrest

Identified as Rubel Jonu Sheikh, the 24 years old accused was staying in India with illegal documents.

The BJP’s North Mumbai Minority cell’s President was arrested by Mumbai Police recently for being an illegal Bangladeshi immigrant. Identified as Rubel Jonu Sheikh, the 24 years old accused was staying in India with illegal documents, India Today reported.

Congress leader Sachin Sawant, slamming the BJP over the arrest, tweeted: “Is this BJP’s ‘Sangh Jihad’? Some BJP leaders are found smuggling Gaumata and some are proved to be ISI agents. Now one Rubel Sheikh, the president of the minority cell of BJP turned out to be Bangladeshi. Is there a provision given in CAA act for BJP?”

Sheikh was arrested by the Mumbai Police last week.

“We have arrested the accused for procuring fake documents. Based on fake documents he even made Aadhar Card and Pan Card. Currently, he is in judicial custody,” Senior police inspector Bhalerao Shekhar said.

Rubel Sheikh, according to Mumbai Police,  is a resident of Bangladesh’s Jasur district, Bowalia Village. Sheikh entered India in the year 2011 without any documents, police officials said. Sheikh worked for BJP party and became president of BJP’s North Mumbai minority cell. The accused had made proper documents that were found to be fake, police informed.

The Mumbai Police, during a search of the accused’s house, found a residence certificate of Malapota gram Panchayat, birth certificate Hansakhali and school certificate of Nadia district– all of West Bengal. However, after the police team along with Sheikh went to all places which were shown in the documents, they found all the documents fake, with no history in the collectorate office as well. It was found that all documents were fake and forged.

“During investigations, we also found that based on these documents Sheikh had also procured Indian Aadhar Card and PAN Card. We are further investigating the matter,” a police officer said.
