Bollywood Celebrities Come In Support Of Government After Tweets By Rihanna, Greta Thunberg

People must focus on the government’s efforts to resolve the farmer crisis instead of “half truths”, the Bollywood celebrities stressed.

Several Bollywood celebrities today with the hashtags #IndiaAgainstPropaganda and #IndiaTogether, both used in an official government statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). The development came after a massive pushback as pop star Rihanna and other global celebrities tweeted in support of the farmer protests.

People must focus on the government’s efforts to resolve the farmer crisis instead of “half truths”, the Bollywood celebrities stressed.

Sharing the statement issued by the MEA, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar tweeted: “Farmers constitute an extremely important part of our country. And the efforts being undertaken to resolve their issues are evident. Let’s support an amicable resolution, rather than paying attention to anyone creating differences.”

Ajay Devgn also tweeted with the hashtags used by the MEA in response to the global celebrities speaking about farmers’ protest. Mr Devgn said: “Don’t fall for any false propaganda against India or Indian policies. Its important to stand united at this hour w/o any infighting.”

Director Karan Johar also appealed Indians to not ‘let anyone divide us’. Mr Johar said: “We live in turbulent times and the need of the hour is prudence and patience at every turn. Let us together, make every effort we can to find solutions that work for everyone—our farmers are the backbone of India. Let us not let anyone divide us.”

Actor Suniel Shetty not only tweeted with the same hashtag but also tagged BJP Mumbai’s Vice President Hitesh Jain. Sharing the statement issued by MEA, Mr Shetty said: “We must always take a comprehensive view of things, as there is nothing more dangerous than half truth.”

Stressing that India’s rivals can stoop to any level seeing its growing domination, singer Kailash Kher also tweeted with same hashtags. Mr Kher said: “Even in this sad phase of pandemic,India is helping all nations with vaccine supply for the sake of Humanity.Let all realise that India is ONE & will not tolerate comments against it.”

Producer Ekta Kapoor joined other celebrities in sharing the statement issued by the MEA. Ms Kapoor said: “Lets stand united against any propaganda. Together we can and we will!”
