Two days after being discharged from hospital, where he was admitted on Friday following blood pressure fluctuation, Superstar Rajinikanth today released a statement which read: “With extreme sadness, I say that I can’t enter politics. I alone know the pain I went through while announcing this decision.” Rajinikanth, who appeared to launch his political party after a long wait, has now put brakes on his political career.
“Without entering electoral politics, I will serve the people. This decision of mine will disappoint my fans and people but please forgive me,” his statement further read.

The 69-years-old renowned actor, made the announcement a day after he met with senior office bearers of his forum, the Rajini Makkal Mandram. The actor had set up the Rajini Makkal Mandram two years ago.
Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan were widely tipped to be the x-factor in the Tamil Nadu election due in six months.
These are the first assembly polls after the demise of Tamil Nadu’s two most powerful politicians, J Jayalalithaa of the AIADMK and DMK’s MK Karunanidhi.
Rajinikanth, one of the most popular and looked-after actor, enjoys a fan following that is unmatched, both in Mumbai and southern states. However, the decision to not form the political party may have disappointed his fans and supporters who were waiting for his political entry for years.
