Kollam| While Home Quarantine and Isolation have been made compulsory as India fights Coronavirus, some people refuse to follow the guidelines putting the lives of others in risk. A similar incident was reported in Kerala which is one of the worst Coronavirus Affected states in the country. An IAS officer from the state escaped the quarantine and fled to his home town in UP.

The Sub-collector in Kollam district, Anupam Mishra was travelling to Singapore. After returning, he was placed under quarantine on March 19. However, he was found missing when the health officials checked in. When contacted, he informed that he had already reached his hometown Kanpur.
Mishra’s superior, Kollam District Collector Abdul Nasar called this behaviour as “Irresponsible”. However, Mishra says that he faced a shortage of food at his official residence in Kerala and thus he moved into his relative’s house in UP.
Kerala has reported 137 Coronavirus cases (Including 8 foreign nationals).
