Hathras| The CBI, which is investigating the Hathras Gangrape and Murder case in Uttar Pradesh, has filed a charge sheet on Friday. In the charge sheet, the CBI has named all the four suspect as accused of rape and murder. The four suspect Sandeep, Lavkush, Ravi and Ramu are accused of brutally raping and murdering a Dalit girl in the village.
The Hathras case was handed over to the CBI by the Yogi government for investigation. The central investigative agency was involved in the probe for the last two months. On the other hand, the CBI will take the victim’s brother to Gujarat for a forensic psychological test. Here his psychological assessment will be done. In the Hathras incident, an FIR was lodged on behalf of the victim’s brother.
Earlier, the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court had expressed concern over the government not taking any action against Hathras District Magistrate (DM) Praveen Kumar Laxkar for not maintaining the impartiality of the investigation while securing his order in the Hathras case. The court, while fixing the date for the next hearing of the case, also asked the CBI to present the status report of its investigation in the case that day.
What is Hathras Case?
In Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras village, a 19-year-old Dalit girl was brutally assaulted by four caste Hindu men. She succumbed to injuries at Delhi’s Safdarjang hospital in the early hours of Tuesday, the Hindu reported.
She had gone to collect animal fodder from the field on September 14, when this incident happened. The girl was allegedly gang-raped and later strangulated with her dupatta.

On the request of her father, she was shifted to Delhi from Aligarh’s JN Medical College on Monday. The administration delayed in referring her to Delhi and that the facilities in Aligarh were inadequate, members of the Azad Samaj Party alleged.
Victim Cremated Without Consent of the Family
The Dalit woman’s body who was gang-raped and murdered by four alleged upper caste men was cremated by the cops in the dead of the night. The UP Police and the district administration cremated the body of Hathras gangrape victim at 3 AM allegedly against the wishes of the family. Reportedly, no family member was present when the victim was cremated in unusual haste.
According to some reports, the family members of the victim while speaking to media persons said that they wanted to bring her body one last time to their home where their relatives were present and then cremate her in the morning as per the community’s customs. However, the body of the victim who died in Safdargunj hospital in Delhi was whisked away by the police from the hospital around midnight without even informing the family.
