Congress calls Modi Government a complete failure in Kashmir violence

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday tweeted his condolences to the people who were killed in Jammu and Kashmir as a part of targeted killings. He also mentioned the recent deaths of two men belonging to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. He also called the centre as a complete failure in the issue.

“The Modi government has proved to be a complete failure in controlling the violence in Kashmir and providing security, the incidents of continuous killing are sad. Some of our brothers from Bihar-UP have also been made victims of this violence,” Congress Twitter handle tweeted.

Targeted Killings

Several cases of Targeted killings have been registered and most victim are from the minority community. Last week six people were shot dead in targeted killings. So far this month, 11 people have lost their lives in shootings targeting civilians.

The terror attacks have drawn strong condemnation from political parties across the spectrum. NPP chairman and former minister Harsh Dev Singh had blamed the BJP government for the fast deteriorating security scenario in Jammu and Kashmir.

He said while the killings of innocents in J&K is being used by the BJP leadership as a mere occasion to “condemn Pakistan and promote communal hatred”, it has “utterly failed” in fulfilling its promises of restoring peace and normalcy in the troubled territory. Amid the civilian killings, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha had on Sunday vowed to avenge every drop of their blood by hunting down terrorists and their sympathisers.

Security forces have launched a massive crackdown against “anti-social elements” in the Valley and detained around 700 people for questioning.

Former J&K governor Satyapal Malik has said today that during his regime there were no terrorist attacks in 50-100 kms near Srinagar.

According to news reports, people ae migrating from Kashmir to stay safe.
