Congress likely to appoint two deputy CMs in Punjab

New Delhi : After resignation of senior congress leader Amarinder Singh from the post of Chief Minister of Punjab on saturday. Many names are making rounds for his replacement. But sources arey saying congress is likely to appoint two deputy CMs.

According to ANI Sources close to Sidhu said, “Whatever name is agreed for the Chief Minister, it will be accompanied by two deputy Chief Ministers. However, the decisions of Deputy Chief Ministers will depend on who has been named as the Chief Minister.”

This development is witnessed just months before the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections.

On other hand, Ambika Soni refused the offer given by party leadership.

Ms Soni made it clear at the meeting that not having a Sikh as the Chief Minister has “ramifications”, the sources said, asking not to be named.

The Congress’s three political observers for Punjab are meeting with every MLA to get their views on the matter, and the three will report back to the party high command for a decision on who would be the next Chief Minister.
