New Delhi: On the 71st birthday of PM Modi many took to Twitter to wish him, even Congress leader Rahul Gandhi tweeted his wishes. His curt tweet ‘Happy Birthday Modi ji’ struck as odd to many as the Indian Youth Congress marked today i.e September 17 as National Unemployment Day’.
Indian Youth Congress on National Unemployment day
The Indian Youth Congress claims that the unemployment rate in the country has increased from 2.4 percent to 10.3 percent in just one year.
âThe youth of the country is roaming unemployed on the streets today,â said Srinivas BV, the national president of the Indian Youth Congress. âThe Modi government came to power by making big promises of giving 2 crore jobs per year, but today the central government is completely silent on the issue of employment.â
He said the government is âbusy in its branding by spreading its false propaganda.â
In Mumbai, youth Congress chief Zeeshan Siddique said party workers will wear graduation gowns and sell pakoras at the selfie point outside the headquarters of the civic body.
