Covid update: 26,041 fresh cases registered along with 276 deaths

Mumbai: India has reported 26,041 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, 29,621 recoveries have been registered, and 276 deaths have been recorded as per Union Health Ministry. The total cases load reached 3,36,78,786.

Total recoveries were 3,29,31,972. The recovery rate currently stands at 97.78 per cent.

The death toll reached 4,47,194. The total number of active cases is 2,99,620. Active cases currently account for only 0.89 per cent of the total Covid cases in India.

The weekly positivity rate, at 1.94 per cent, has been less than 3 per cent for the last 94 days, while the daily positivity rate, at 2.24 per cent, has been less than 3 per cent for the last 28 days.

Maharashtra, which has allowed all cinema halls and places of worship to open from the next month, reported 3,206 cases.

Kerala, where the worrying surge has been a cause of national concern, reported 15,591 cases in the last 24 hours.

Australia’s Sydney Plans To Reopen As Covid Cases Decline

Australia’s New South Wales (NSW) government plans to unveil its roadmap on Monday for reopening the state from COVID-19 shutdowns, detailing the differing levels of freedoms to be afforded to citizens based on their vaccination status.

With 60% of people aged 16 and over fully inoculated – above the national average of 52% – officials expect to reach their 80% target around the end of October, based on current vaccination rates.Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, in his radio address “Mann Ki Baat”, warned against complacency during the festive season. “In this festival we have to remember about one more fight – that is the country’s fight against coronavirus. Team India is making new records every day in this fight,” said PM Modi, referring to the country’s record vaccination on his birthday.
