Delhi CM Kejriwal writes to PM Modi on LG’s unconstitutional committee for CCTVs project

New Delhi: Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding an unconstitutional committee formed by LG for CCTV project.

CM Kejriwal in his letter has accused the Lieutenant Governor Anil Bijal of interpreting Delhi government premiere CCTV Project for women safety.

“The Delhi Government had completed the entire procedure for this project, the budget was passed, all objections were cleared, the cabinet had given us the permission, Central government’s agency BIL was given the tender for this project, but suddenly the LG interrupted the process. He formed a committee on the CCTV project without our taking us in confidence. This has delayed the project.” CM Kejriwal wrote in the letter.

He even asked questions, ‘when the procedure was completed, Cameras were about to be placed, then why was the committee formed? what will the committee do? The sole purpose of this committee is to stop us from doing our job and create an obstacle in the CCTV project.

Adding to this the Delhi CM also mentioned the previous incident of LG Baijal’s interference in the government projects.”Last year the LG had similarly stuck the file of ‘Mohala Clinic’. For around one year no ‘Mohala Clinic’ was set up in Delhi.”

Earlier last month the Lieutenant Governor had issued a suspension order of Atishi Marlena who was working for a mere salary of 1 rupee in the education department of Delhi government. CM Kejriwal also mentioned this issue in his letter. “Suspension of Atishi has diversely affected the Delhi government’s work towards education,”added Kejriwal.

The Delhi CM has urged PM Modi to immediately direct LG Anil Baijal to withdraw his decision in the CCTV project. He has also asked for an appointment to meet PM Modi to converse him with the situation.
