New Delhi| Delhi violence claimed 46 lives and left hundreds of people injured. Several houses, shops, vehicles were gutted in north-east Delhi. One Petrol Pump in Bhajanpura was set ablaze. One of the houses that were gutted in the fire belonged to Akhtar Raza, Vice President of Delhi BJP Minority Cell.
According to a report from the Telegraph Akhtar Raza Recalled, “Those people were chanting religious slogans. It was almost seven in the evening when they started throwing stones at us. I called the police for help but the police told me to leave. We somehow managed to escape. But they burned my house.”
According to the report, 19 houses of Muslims are in the same street in the area. All of them have been selectively subverted and ignited.

Some bodies have also been recovered from an alley in front of Raza’s house. In Bhagirathi Vihar and adjoining Mustafabad, the atmosphere was tense on Sunday. The atmosphere became tense after the horrific violence on February 23 evening in Delhi and for the next three days, many areas of North East Delhi continued to burn in the flames of violence.
Homes and vehicles were set on fire in several areas. Violent mobs also blew up a petrol pump. About 42 people have been killed and at least 200 injured in the Delhi violence so far.
