DGCA Suspends All International & Domestic Flights Till May 3rd

DGCA tweeted that all domestic and international scheduled airlines operations shall remain suspended till 11:59 pm of 03 May 2020.

New Delhi| Soon after PM Narendra Modi extended the national lockdown until 3rd May, the DGCA announced that all will remain suspended till the same day too.

The aviation body tweeted, “All domestic and international scheduled airlines operations shall remain suspended till11:59pm of 03 May 2020.”

Notably, the restrictions will not apply to international all-cargo operations and flights specifically approved by the DGCA.

The Indian Railways, earlier extended the suspension of its services by 19 more days till May 3.

“We have taken the decision keeping in view the extended lockdown period. More updates will be available shortly,” PTI quoted a railway official. Earlier, all passenger services were cancelled till April 14 midnight.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in India spiked to 10,363, with 339 deaths, according to the Union Health Ministry.

31 people have died and 1,211 cases have been reported in the last 24 hours alone.

PM Narendra Modi while declaring the lockdown extension said that states and citizens have collectively suggested extending the lockdown.

PM has extended the lockdown till 3rd May indicating that a strict lockdown will be followed till 20th April.

After 20th April, some restrictions in unaffected areas will be lifted after analysis.

PM says that whatever relaxations granted during the shutdown to some areas will be upon conditions. And even if there is one new case reported in the area, the relaxations will be taken back.
