Twenty Six Naxals killed in encounter in Gadchiroli forest

Mumbai : Twenty Six Naxals have been eliminated in an encounter with the C-60 unit of Maharashtra Police in the jungles of Gyarapatti in Gadchiroli district today.

Four police jawans are injured in today’s anti-Naxal operation in Gadchiroli were airlifted and admitted to Critical Care Complex of Orange City Hospital and Research Insitute in Nagpur, the hospital says.

The gun battle took place this morning at Dhanora in the Gyarahbatti forest area in the district, located over 920 km away from Mumbai, when a police team was conducting a search operation, a senior officer said.

As per the preliminary information, the ultras fired on the police personnel, which was retaliated, he added.
