Rohatgi told Rajasthan HC, “No concrete reason was given for issuing the notice. The notice has written all that was in the complaint of some complainant.”
Jaipur| The hearing in the High Court on the petition of Sachin Pilot camp against the notice of the speaker was completed on Tuesday. The court has now reserved the verdict for 3 days. Now the decision will come on 24 July. Till then, the speaker will not be able to take any action against the 19 MLAs.
Representing Sachin Pilot, his lawyer Mukul Rohatgi said that the assembly speaker gave the legislators only 3 days to respond, while 7 days should have been given. “Why were they in such a hurry? The defection law was enacted so that no party could change,” he said.

He argued that the powers of the Rajasthan High Court cannot be curbed. The court has the right to hear the case, but every case should be treated with different arguments. Rohatgi contended that the notice was sent on the day of complaint. He said, “No concrete reason was given for issuing the notice. The notice has written all that was in the complaint of some complainant. There was no action on the complaint made for when BSP MLAs defected to Congress.”

During the hearing on Monday in the Rajasthan High court, Abhishek Manu Singhvi made the arguments on behalf of the speaker CP Joshi. Singhvi said that the speaker has sent just a notice to the MLAs, they were not disqualified. He said that the petition of the pilot camp is pre-mature and it should be rejected.
Harish Salve argued on behalf of the Pilot faction. Salve said that toppling the government is a different matter and making the chief minister is another matter. Earlier on Friday, he also said that no activity outside the Legislative Assembly could be considered a violation of the Anti-defection Act. The session is also not running, so the whip has no meaning.
