Hathras Case: Citing “International Plot”, UP Police Files 19 FIRs, Sedition Case

In yet another FIR related to Hathras case, UP Police claimed that they have unearthed an “International Plot” to defame the state government.

 

Hathras| The Uttar Pradesh police have filed as many as 19 FIRs against unidentified persons citing conspiracy to manipulate the Hathras Incident, News 18 reported. The charges in the FIR include sedition, promoting religious enmity and sections of IT act among others.

The development comes a day after Chief Minister of the state Yogi Adityanath said that people who are unhappy with the development works in the state under his govt are trying to instigate riots along caste lines. The FIR filed also cited an “International Conspiracy” to defame the state govt.

One of the FIR stated, “Family was manipulated to take a position against the government, after it had a dialogue with the CM. Certain pictures project Yogi in bad light were aired on a TV channel. Some social media posts were with intent to spread caste hatred and incite unrest. ”

The charges included in the FIR consist sedition, conspiracy, inciting caste divides, religious discrimination, doctoring electronic evidence, a conspiracy against the state and defamation, etc.

International Plot To Defame Yogi Adityanath Govt

In yet another FIR related to Hathras case, UP Police claimed that they have unearthed an “International Plot” to defame the state government. A website, justiceforhathrasvictim.carrd.co that provided information on how to protest safely and avoid police has been linked to the conspiracy, the Indian Express Reported. The website is currently not available on the internet.

The FIR was registered under sections 109 (abetment if the act abetted is committed in consequence and where no express provision is made for its punishment), 120B (criminal conspiracy), 124A (sedition), 153 A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc, and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony) and four of its sub-sections, 153 B (imputations, assertions prejudicial to national-integration), 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) of the IPC, according to Indian Express.
