Srinagar: An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was found near HMT on Srinagar Baramulla road by the security forces this morning.
The IED which as per reports was planted by the suspected militants was later diffused by the bomb disposal squad who took away IED with themselves.
Reports said that on specific input searches were conducted in the HMT area during which IED was found. After this Police, 2RR of Army and Bomb Disposal Squad reached to the spot for diffusing it.
Meanwhile, the traffic was suspended from Baramulla to Srinagar, whereas from Srinagar traffic was diverted from Shalteng.
Later after diffusing the IED traffic was restored on the above-mentioned routes and the area was sanitized.
Few days ago a similar IED was planted in Sopore during the shutdown call of separatist which resulted in the killing of four cops of Jammu and Kashmir police.
Worthy to mention here that today also a shutdown call was given by the separatist and militants taking advantage of their call had planted this IED after the successful Sopore attack to kill more cops but was timely detected and diffused.
