“Impact of Coronavirus Will Remain Visible In The Coming Months, Masks & Face Covers Will Be Part Of Our Life,” PM Modi says

Modi also said, “We have to give importance to the economy, we have to emphasize the importance of usage of technology as much as possible”

 

NEW DELHI| On Monday Prime Minister Modi held a video conference with all states CM’s and stressed on social distancing. Calling it an important and need of an hour term “Do Gaj ki Doori” (a distance of two yards) to fight against the pandemic.

PM Modi said, “For a long time now, Covid-19 has become a part of our lives. Considering the threat that it poses, we shouldn’t compromise on one thing”.

“Do Gaj ki Doori (a distance of two yards). We have to keep spreading this message and should be a life lesson for all,” he added.

While having conversation four CM’s i.e. Meghalaya, Ponidcherry, Goa and Odisha demanded the extension of the lockdown and easing the economic activities on which PM Modi replied, “We have to give importance to the economy as well as continue the fight against COVID -19. We have to emphasized the importance of usage of technology as much as possible and also to utilize time to embrace reform measures”.

PM Modi applauded the state government efforts fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic. Modi said, “We saw a two-stage lockdown, with strict measures in the first phase and then some relaxations in the second. Good work has been done in the states. Efforts of states should now be directed towards converting the red zones into orange and thereafter to green zones. We have to be brave and bring in reforms that touch the lives of common citizens”.

Post-May 3 after the nationwide lockdown will end. PM Modi has asked the state government for a policy as to how the states will exit the lockdown and preventive measures. Following the red, orange and green zone advisory.

As lockdown of almost 1 and 1/2 months have helped in flattening the curve and have save lives across the nation. As the population of India is comparable to that of the combined population of several countries, PM Mod said.

PM Modi also emphases on the significance of ensuring that more people download the AarogyaSetu app to bolster the efforts of the country in the battle against COVID-19. As in the changes in weather advent of summer and monsoon and the illnesses that can potentially come in this season, while strategizing ahead.

Talking about the Indian immigrants across the globe, Modi said, “Bringing back Indians who overseas have to be done keeping in mind the fact that they don’t get inconvenienced and their families are not under any risk”.

Monday meeting is fourth such visual conference of PM Modi with the states CM since the nationwide lockdown call.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray, Tamil Nadu CM E K Palaniswami, Meghalaya CM Conard Sangma, Uttarakhand CM Trivendram Singh Rawat and Yogi Adityanath CM of Uttar Pradesh participated in the visual conference. Along with Home Minister Amit Shah, Health Minister Harsh Vardhan and top officials from the PMO and Union Health Ministry.
