Reaching 5 trillion economy dream not far away
PM Modi says, “How will we move forward? Who will we develop? To what extent can we develop? Fulfilling the five trillion dollar economy dream is the answer to it. We can achieve this target. If every citizen starts contributing to the nation, we can achieve this. People say it is difficult but if it’s not when they strive for it. In the last 70 years we became a two trillion dollar economy, but in the last five years we added one trillion dollar to the economy. “One Nation, One constitution”: PM Modi
In the political alleys of India, some kept opposing the abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35A. Now they are being asked, if this was so important, why did you not make it permanent in the last 70 years? They keep saying what has happened is wrong but did they have any solutions? No. During the difficult times of independence, people like Vallabhai Patel took very tough and valiant decisions. But because of Article 370 there emerged problems. Today, as I address the nation, I can say that every citizen can proudly say it is one nation one constitution.
8:06 AM

PM Modi speaks on Article 370
NDA govt abrogated Article 370 which was pending for last 70 years. The old arrangement in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh encouraged corruption, nepotism but there was injustice when it came to rights of women, children, Dalits, tribal communities. How can we accept such a situation.

“We, as the government, are trying to remove problems from its roots. You must have seen that the sword of triple talaq hung low on our Muslim sisters and mothers. It did not let them live with freedom. Many Islamist nations had banned the law long back. But in India for some reason we did not eradicate it. If we can raise our voice against the practice of Sati, we thought why can’t we raise our voice against Triple talaq.”

“During 2013-14 elections, I was trying to understand the sentiment of the nation. Everybody thought can this nation change? But in 2019 after the hard work of five years, when the entire nation witnessed our work, the citizens’ sentiment had changed to that of confidence, yes my nation can change,” the PM says.
“Now they were thinking, yes even I can change the nation. The collective confidence of 130 crore people gave us the impetus we needed. We started with the motto of ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vishwas’, the enthused people of India gave us the confidence. This time no one political party was fighting elections, no MP, no Modi. It was the people of India fighting for their dreams, their aspirations,” PM Modi adds.
