Earlier this week Indian and Chinese armies rushed in additional troops in areas around Pangong Tso and Galwan Valley in Ladakh.
New Delhi: In several areas in Ladakh and northern Sikkim along the un-demarcated Sino-India border tension is gradually building up between Indian and Chinese armies with both sides bringing in additional troops.
This comes following two violent face-offs between the neighbouring countries.
Both the Indian and Chinese armies have brought in more troops in sensitive locations like Demchok, Daulat Beg Oldie and areas around Galwan river as well as Pangong Tso lake in Ladakh, the sources said.
Two rounds of talks between Indian and Chinese local military commanders at Pangong Tso, where troops of the two sides came to blows two weeks ago, remained unsettled Tuesday and Beijing warned of “necessary counter-measures”.
The Indian Express reported: China alleged the Indian Army had “entered Chinese soil on the Baijing and Lujin duan section of the Sino-Indian border, obstructing the normal patrol of Chinese border troops, and was “attempting to unilaterally change the status quo of border territory”.

While the Army and Ministry of External Affairs kept silence, officials in New Delhi called the situation as “delicately poised” and “very sensitive” at a time when the nation is fighting with the novel coronavirus pandemic and its fallout.
Chinese object the construction of a road in the Galwan river area which is well within Indian territory.
The site of the current construction is near the junction of Shyok and Galwan rivers, about 200 km north of the Pangong Tso lake.
