NEW DELHI| On Monday coronavirus caseload in India inched closer to 5.50 lakh mark as over 19,000 fresh cases were reported on Sunday. India has reported its highest-ever spike of 19,459 coronavirus cases.
The coronavirus cases tally in India now stands ar 548,318. This is the sixth consecutive day that coronavirus infections have increased by more than 15,000.
In the past 24 hours, 380 people have died due to coronavirus. The total number of deaths in the country now stands at 16,475.

On Sunday, a record single-day surge of 19,906 coronavirus cases pushed India’s tally to 528,859, while the death toll rose to 16,095 with 410 persons succumbing to the infection on the last 24 hours, according to the Union Health Ministry data.
