India Records 60,471 New Covid-19 Cases, Lowest Since March 31

After the last 76 days in the country, the least number of new cases of Covid-19 have been registered in a day.

 

New Delhi| In a continuing declining trend of Covid-19 cases, India on Tuesday recorded 60,471 new infections in the last 24 hours. The death toll in this period remains at 2,726. For the past several weeks, there has been a steady decline in the cases of coronavirus in India. In the peak of the second wave, i.e. in the beginning of May, the daily recorded cases had crossed 4 lakhs, which have now come close to 60,000. In the last week, some states have revised the figures of their death toll, after which the number of deaths increased.

The number of cases reported in a day till Tuesday morning is the lowest since March 31, 2021. That is, after the last 76 days in the country, the least number of new cases of Covid-19 have been registered in a day. On March 31, 53,480 new cases were registered in a single day.
