In the last 24 hours, India reported 61,537 coronavirus cases, taking the total tally to 20,88,612, including 6,19,088 active cases and 14,27,006 recoveries, according to the data by Union Health Ministry. The death toll reached 42,518 after the country reported 933 deaths on Friday.
It marks the 10th consecutive day the country has reported over 50,000 cases of the infectious virus.
A cumulative total of 2,33,87,171 samples have been tested so far, with 5,98,778 samples being tested on Friday, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said.

19.3 million cases of coronavirus have been recorded across the world, whereas 7.19 lakh have succumbed to the highly infectious disease.
