New Delhi : India reported 11,903 fresh COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, which was 14% higher than yesterday. The country also witnessed 311 Covid-related deaths in the period.
At least 14,159 people have recovered in the last 24 hours. The total number of people who have recovered is 3,36,97,740. The recovery rate is currently at 98.22 per cent, the highest since March 2020.
The daily rise in new coronavirus infections has been below 20,000 for 26 straight days and less than 50,000 daily new cases have been reported for 129 consecutive days now.
Daily positivity rate of 1.11 per cent is less than 2 per cent for the last 30 days. In the ongoing COVID-19 vaccination drive, 107.29 crore vaccine doses have been administered.
Active cases account for less than 1 per cent of total cases, currently at 0.44 per cent. The weekly positivity rate of 1.18 per cent is less than 2 per cent for last 40 days.
The number of Covid-related deaths in Assam rose by seven for the second consecutive day. The state recorded 270 new coronavirus cases, taking the overall caseload to 6,11,211.
Maharashtra on Tuesday reported 1,078 fresh COVID-19 cases, a rise of 269 from a day ago. Over a dozen districts in Maharashtra did not record any new COVID-19 case.
India has conducted 61.12 crore COVID-19 tests so far.
More than 114 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been provided to states and union territories so far, out of which, more than 14.68 crore balance and unutilised doses are still available with them to be administered, informed the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Wednesday.
As per a press release issued by the ministry, 1,14,44,05,215 vaccine doses have been provided to the states/UTs so far through the Central government (free of cost channel) and through the direct state procurement category.West Bengal reported 862 new COVID-19 cases and 11 deaths in the past 24 hours, informed the state health department on Tuesday. According to the state health bulletin, the number of active cases in the state stands at 8,126. With 871 recoveries reported in the last 24 hours, a total of 15,67,209 people have recovered in the state so far. As many as 15,94,495 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the state so far and a total of 19,160 people have succumbed to the virus in the state.
