Dehradun | Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that ‘New India’ formed through the economic and social change will be a driving engine in the world growth in the upcoming decades.
Addressing the first ever Uttarakhand Investors’ Summit in Dehradun, PM Modi said, “Every major institution in the world is predicting that in the coming decades, India is going to be the driving engine of world growth.” Speaking on the ongoing tax reforms PM Modi said, the government is trying to bring transparency in the tax related matters”.”Insolvency and Bankruptcy code has today made the trade easier and gave strength to the banking system,” he added.
Responding to the opposition’s criticism on GST, PM Modi said, “GST is the biggest tax reform in India since Independence. GST has transformed the country into a single market and also helped to raise the tax base.” Speaking on one of the biggest infrastructural development of constructing road network in India, the Prime Minister said, In last one year around 10 lakh kilometers of national Highways is been constructed by the government.” Double the network of Highways built by the previous government.” he added.

PM Modi also recounted the ongoing work of new metro, High-Speed rail project, dedicated pret-corridor. He further said that the government is also modernising 400 railway stations in India. Addressing one of the key projects of the current government, Aayushman Bharat, PM Modi said, “The recently launched Ayushaman India Plan has also created a huge potential for investment in the medical sector in India”.”The scheme will strengthen the Medical infrastructure of the country by developing the hospitals in the tier two-tier three cities.”
