Jammu and Kashmir: Granade attack on Deputy Commissioner office in Anantnag, 10 injured

Nearly 2 months have passed since Article 370 was neutralized from Jammu and Kashmir. Since then, there has been tension situation in the valley.

 

Srinagar| The Deputy Commissioner Office was attacked with a grenade in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag area on Saturday morning. Militants hurled grenades at security forces deployed in the DC office and escaped. Jammu and Kashmir police said that 10 people were injured in the attack. These include a traffic policeman and a journalist. The area has been cordoned off after the attack. A search operation has also been started.

At the same time, the government has further strengthened the security system in the valley. Last week, an encounter between security forces and militants took place at two different places in Jammu and Kashmir. Six militants were killed in it while one soldier was killed. Two policemen were also injured in the incident.
