Jewar International Airport: PM Modi lays foundation stone

Lucknow: Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for Noida International Airport, also known as Jewar Airport, on Thursday, November 25.

Construction work for the airport has begun, and the airport will be operational from 2024. Once it becomes operational, Uttar Pradesh will have five international airports, the highest for any state in India. The airport will be spread over 1,334 hectares of land and will have a capacity to serve around 1.2 crore passenger.

While inaugurating the airport Prime Minister Narendra Modi quoted, “Noida International Airport will become the logistic gateway of northern India. This will make the entire region a strong reflection of the National Gatishakti Masterplan.”
