J&K: Terrorists kill truck driver carrying apples in Shopian

According to the police, the terrorists attacked the village of Sheermal, frustrated by the movement of trucks loaded with fruit in Kashmir.

 

Srinagar| Terrorists shot dead a truck driver from Rajasthan on Monday in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian. Not only this, two terrorists, including a suspected Pakistani citizen, also assaulted the owner of the garden. According to the police, the terrorists attacked the village of Sheermal, frustrated by the movement of trucks loaded with fruit in the valley. The deceased has been identified as Sharif Khan. He was carrying a truck loaded with apples.

“There is anger among locals over Monday’s incidents,” a police official said. He said that one of the terrorists involved in the attack was suspected to be Pakistani. Initial reports said that the driver died after the truck was burnt by the miscreants.

At the same time, another incident happened in Kupwara. A soldier was killed in the blast near LOC here. According to the police, a landmine exploded near LoC in Naugam sector of Kupwara in Jammu and Kashmir. An army soldier was killed in the blast.

The incident occurred when postpaid mobile services were resumed in Kashmir on Monday after a nearly 72-day ban. Communication services were closed in Jammu and Kashmir after the removal of Article 370. Not only this, to ease the situation, Governor Satyapal Malik withdrew the security advisory issued to tourists on 10 October.
