Bandipora: Two Policemen were killed in the terrorist open fire at Bandipora on Friday. As per the Kashmir Police, the incident took place at the Gulshan chowk. At Gulshan Chowk, terrorists were seen open firing.
Selection grade constable Mohammad Sultan and constable Fayaz Ahmad have injured in tan the attack and rushed to a nearby hospital where they succumbed to injuries, police said.

Amid the attack the police have ordered a search operation, and are looking out for the terrorists, officials familiar with the matter said. Police believe that there might be two or three terrorists, responsible for the attack, they added.
Condemning the attack, Bharatiya Janata Party J&K spokesperson Altaf Thakur said: βThe killing of two policemen who were on duty is barbaric and highly condemnable and those responsible for the attack should be identified.β

As many as 96 civilians and 81 security personnel have been killed in Jammu and Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019, the Centre informed the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.
