Kanpur Man Beaten Up, Foced To Chant ‘Jai Shri Ram’ As Child Begs For Mercy

In the viral video from Kanpur, the rickshaw driver’s daughter is seen begging the attackers to leave her father. The assailants are also seen beating him in Police custody.

 

In a shocking incident in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, some extremists openly beat up a Muslim rickshaw puller, asking him to chant slogans of ‘Jai shree Ram’. The rickshaw puller was also paraded around the village. The video of the incident circulating on social media shows a mob forcefully parading the victim and forcing him to chant Jai Shri Ram. The victim is seen profusely crying and requesting the mob to let him go. His child is also seen hugging him in the video and refusing to leave him as he is being paraded. The kid requests the mob to spare him, crying. Later on in the video, the mob is seen beating the victim mercilessly.

Rajesh Bandwala, Aman Gupta and Rahul Kumar, the three main accused in this incident of assault have been arrested by the police. Requests are being made for the arrest of the rest of the accused. This information has been given by Asim Arun, Commissioner of Police, Kanpur.

In the viral video, the rickshaw driver’s daughter is seen begging the attackers to leave her father. Later, some policemen are seen taking the rickshaw driver away from their jeep. The footage also shows the assailants beating the rickshaw driver even in the presence of police.

Kanpur DSP (South) Raveena Tyagi said that the incident took place on Wednesday in a slum near Ramgopal Crossing in Barra area.

The e-rickshaw driver, who was the victim of the incident, said that at around 3 pm on Wednesday, some people started abusing and beating him and threatened to kill his family. Police have rescued him from the clutches of the attackers. According to police sources, a relative of the victim e-rickshaw driver is involved in a legal dispute with his Hindu neighbour. In July last year, the two sides had filed a lawsuit against each other in the case.

Meanwhile, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi registered a strong protest over the incident. He tweeted: “Radical violent criminals know nothing will happen to them. They are also unlikely to face social exclusion for such heinous crimes. He beat a Muslim man in the presence of police, but police did not arrest anyone. I don’t know how the girl will ever recover from this shock. ‘ Owaisi said that no civilized society would glorify such hooligans. If you have a conscience, you can no longer be a bystander. Fight this violent bigotry in the society.”
